Jake Hannafious
As a Senior Mechanical Engineering student most interested in control systems and mechatronics, I joined the RoboSub project since it covers these subjects as well as traditional mechanical engineering subjects thoroughly. I am excited to contribute to the many aspects of the design and learn from the students of other engineering concentrations. Outside of academics I focus on physical training as well as the many traditional Colorado activities such as snowboarding and mountain biking. |

Ryan Harty Sub Team Lead
I’ve been interested in robotics for most of my life, having done robotics through FIRST since the 2nd Grade, as well as several other robotics challenges in college. RoboSub presented me with an opportunity to pursue robotics at an exciting new level, allowing me to tackle challenges unlike anything I’ve worked on in the past, pushing me to develop my mechanical and electrical skills even further. Outside of school and work you’ll usually find me either rock climbing, backpacking, or on some other outdoor adventure. |

I am a Senior wrapping up my studies in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University. I am most interested in the marine applications of mechanical engineering, specifically hydrostatic and stability systems. These interests led me to pursue work on the RoboSub. In my spare time I like to snowboard, go fishing, and work on my car. |

Marta Camacho Sub Team Lead
I am a Senior in Electrical Engineering at Colorado State University. My interests lie in power distribution and systems integration. I chose to be part of the propulsion sub team so I can see how different components can work together to achieve a task. I enjoy circuit design and the testing process, success is rewarding but I’ve learned much more from my failures. When I’m not doing homework, projects or school in general, I love to spend time with my sisters of Alpha Sigma Kappa – Women in technical studies, running with my dog or catching up on Game of Thrones. |

Over the last couple years robotics, hobby grade drones, and programming have interested me as they increase in popularity around the world. Being an Electrical Engineering student in my senior year, it seemed fitting to join the Robosub project, as it aligns with my interests so well. It is exciting to work with such a large team with a variety of new people who all have different experiences to learn from. Working together should prove to be a challenging and informative experience. Outside of the world of academia my interest include: hiking, biking and video games. |

Jordan Lankford Team Lead
Over the last few years at CSU studying electrical engineering I have grown to love circuit design and learning about how software and hardware work together. I am a competitive person and the competition aspect of the RoboSub project is what initially caught my attention and I haven’t looked back since. Outside of academics I enjoy spending time in the mountains of Colorado and try to go snowmobiling with my dad every chance I get! |

Moeez Malik
I am a Senior student in Electrical Engineering at Colorado State University. My main interests lie in Power Systems as well as Circuit design. I chose to be a part of this project as it allowed me to get the best of both worlds, in terms of my interests. Moreover, I like challenging projects as it allows me to better my own knowledge and further develop my skills as an Electrical Engineer and this project allows me to do just that. In my free time, i like to go for a hike, drive into the mountains to get away from the city or treat myself with a nice meal! |

Jeremy Naeve
I am a Senior Electrical Engineering student. I have been interested in robotics since I used them to render safe Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) while serving as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist for the US Army. Being able to tie systems together to make a fully autonomous submarine is phenomenally interesting to me. In my free time I enjoy golfing, snowboarding, hunting, the occasional video game, and scuba diving. I’m really looking forward to getting to dive Horsetooth Reservoir and watch our submarine work! |

Ross Dobitz
I am a senior computer engineering student. My interests lie in hardware design/ firmware design, and programming. RoboSub caught my attention sophomore year and I knew that was going to be my senior project. Being able to integrate hardware and software to accomplish something difficult like an autonomous submarine is a beautiful thing. In my free time I enjoy Playing guitar, producing music, camping, and biking. I absolutely love engineering and pushing the limits of what I know. |

Billy Phillips Sub Team Lead
Currently, I’m a senior in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at CSU and the Sensor subteam lead. I am considering on staying at CSU to earn a masters degree, with an overall goal to become a digital circuit designer. This is my second year working on the sensors team for this project and am very excited to see the what it will become. When I am not in class, and have free time, I love to hangout with friends and hike. |

Oren Pierce
I am a senior in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at CSU. My academic interests include electromagnetics and RF applications. My goal is to work in the aerospace industry as an RF engineer. As a junior, I was on the RoboSub team in the sensors sub-team, and worked with the CFO to learn the financial workings of the project. This project and where it is capable of going has brought me back as a senior, and I will continue to work in the subs vision team and serve as the CFO. Outside of school, I enjoy weight-lifting, backpacking, archery, skiing, and scuba diving when I get the chance. |

I am a Sophomore in Electrical Engineering. I decided to come back to school due to my interest in hardware development, integration and programming, which is why I chose Electrical Engineering as my second Bachelor’s degree. When I’m not working on school related subjects, I enjoy playing video games, spending time with friends and family, and fishing with my dad. |
Graduate Student Advisers |
|
---|---|
Megan Emmons
Megan is a PhD student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Colorado State University. She is also chair of the Student Activities Committee for the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. Her research interest focuses on multi-agent robotic systems, specifically on control algorithms within the swarm and how to correlate local interactions with the emergent behavior. When not staring at a computer screen or playing with robots, Megan can be found soaking in the sun – either by climbing a rock face, hiking in the mountains, or riding a bike! |
|
Chris Robbiano
Chris is a graduate student in the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University. After his undergraduate studies, Chris worked in the storage and networking industry as a digital designer. In his free time, Chris likes to play music, ski, mountain bike and enjoy the outdoors. |
